William Payne

-->
William Payne is another prisoner I have known for a long time. His is an example of an “old law prisoner”, one who has rehabilitated himself and has been elligible for parole for many years, but is stuck, along with 3-400 others in linmbo . Since “truth in sentencing” came into being in 200o, these old Law “ prisoners are given no real route to release.

William has tried hard to prove himself and needs your encouragement to help him continue growing in difficult circumstances. Please send him a card or write a comment on this blog and we will send it to him . He would also love a penpal.

  1. absolutely wonderful William!
    it's not just one action that defines us, but how we better ourselves after the fact.
    it shows so much about the human spirit that someone can work on enlightening themselves and becoming a better person even after making such a horrible mistake. The true beauty of a person doesn't lie in the one mistake he made, but in all the wonderful things he did after. I think it's so wonderful that you are taking charge of your own life, participating in so many programs, and becoming an amazing cook!! keep on doing what you're doing. You should be really proud of yourself and the way you have remade your life. I hope you can get off on parole soon. Someone who has worked so hard to rehabilitate himself, as you have, deserves to live in the free world. We all make mistakes and I think how we make our selves better from those mistakes is what TRULY defines us. And based on your actions in prison, William, it shows that you are truly a wonderful human being. Wishing you all the best from the outside. Stay blessed & peaceful. All the best :) Stay happy && strong!
